What I Packed For a 2 Day Trip To Vegas

Last week, I was lucky enough to embark on a 2 day trip to Vegas with my husband and son to meet up with other family members for a little fun before back to school.

We would be driving from L.A. to Vegas, and the schedule included enjoying the pool and hotel amenities, have a casual diner and a more formal one the next day for our cousin’s birthday.

We would then drive straight back to Malibu for another surprise beach birthday party that had been on the books for weeks.

Short trip but packed with different occasion.

+ It’s August, so Vegas was SUPER hot, but with it’s usual over freezing AC all over, and Malibu, in the evening, could be chill, all of which influenced wardrobe choices.

So here is what I packed, trying to fit everything I would need in my half of the suitcase 😉

First of, utilities :

My cute Victoria’s Secret romper, my favorite flip flops, Havaianas because they always work well for the pool and double as slippers, a sexy black one piece, the absolutely necessary straw hat, a BCBG simple and easy dress for the pool cabana, a fouta for the Malibu beach party and my classic Thursday Friday “Hermes” printed tote.

Toiletries, of course.

All samples!!

But that’s another post 😉

A complete casual but cute outfit for that Malibu event, composed of :

Banana republic comfy but polished wide leg pants

+

a JCrew tshirt, upgraded by the metallic fiber in it that give it an edgier look

+

my Kookai navy saharienne, light and versatile for the evening

+

colorful woven wedges, because Summer

+

Ray Bans, duh

+

a BCBG rope and strass necklace to finish the look.

For the 2 evenings out in Vegas, I chose to go simple yet elegant :

a long colorblock Zara dress for the first night and a neoprene LBD from Ted Baker for the 2nd, both working with my favorite Zara black blazer.

Simple gold jewelry never disappoint.

In my effort to pack light, I took only one purse, which needed to work with all my day and night outfits, so I opted for my classic Vuitton Petit Noe in black épi leather.

Same with the sunglasses : they needed to be versatile.

I packed my new black Dita Sunbirds.

Same with shoes, that would go with my day outfits AND my choices for the 2 evenings out in Vegas : because it was the heart of Summer, I decided I could forgo heels and brought black Saks 5th Avenue Cadence flats that are comfy but still stylish, with the gold heels.

It was all about efficiency : I was trying to bring clothes that I love and look good on me and can be mixed and matched so that I don’t have to travel with a huge suitcase for only 2 days.

And it worked : I had everything I needed and my outfits were on point for the different occasions, if I may say so myself.

What’s in YOUR suitcase?
